Principal Linux System Administrator (NOC 24x7) Springfield, VA, must have current TS/SCI CI Poly clearance!

This position will work a “Panama Schedule” for 24/7 shift coverage, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, each team works the same shift (day) for 28 days then switches to the other shift (night) for the next 28 days.

What You Will Do:

• You will be supporting a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Principal Linux System Administrator . This Network Operations Centre (NOC) position is responsible for monitoring the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) hosting equipment and services consisting of computers (server), networks, storage, and backup & archive, all in a fast-paced environment.
• Tasks include monitoring system dashboards for the status of services, creating Incidents in the Incident Management system, assigning Incidents to the appropriate Tier-2/Tier-3 assignment groups, assisting with troubleshooting services to restore Full Mission Capability, and/or coordinating with other service.
• Providers when incidents span system boundaries. Additionally, the role entails investigating and rectifying procedural discrepancies as well as identifying areas of process improvement.
• This position will work a “Panama Schedule” for 24/7 shift coverage, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, each team works the same shift (day) for 28 days then switches to the other shift (night) for the next 28 days
• This position must have experience with Ticketing Systems (ServiceNow, HelpNow, Remedy, JIRA, etc.)

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience 
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance 
• (on start date) Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND 
• Experience in Linux

Qualifications We Prefer :

• Experience with virtual / cloud computing technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS) 
• Experience with Windows 
• Experience with storage products from Oracle, EMC, Dell, Isilon, NetApp, DDN 
• Experience in Networking

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
