Position Overview
Participates in delivery of orthopedic care through expertise in administration of injections and application and removal of casts, braces, splints, and dressings.
Essential Functions
· Assist POSC physicians in the delivery of orthopedic patient care management to assure an excellent patient experience.
· Apply/remove casts, splints, dressings and braces as prescribed.
· Develop positive relationship with all physicians and other clinic team members.
· Act as a role model for positive professional behavior in the clinic.
· Monitor clinic flow and facilitate as needed.
· Responds effectively and promptly to all patient, provider and team member requests.
· Maintains an accurate medical record of all encounters within 48 hours.
· Assist physicians with sterile procedures.
· Perform injections as ordered.
Other
· Assists in maintaining a neat and sanitary workplace at all times.
· Anticipate ways to improve patient care and experience.
· Assists in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols.
· Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and certifications.
· Other duties as assigned.
Pay Information: $22.74 to $29.37/hour, depending on experience.Requirements:Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required · National Association of Orthopedic Technologist Certification preferred.· At least one year in a medical clinic in direct patient care area required.· Knowledge of EPIC EHR system preferred. · Excellent interpersonal communication skills. · Knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures as well as treatment modalities. · Must be able to spell accurately. · Strong organizational skills. · Ability to multi-task and prioritize. · Ability to remain calm under pressure. · Ability to maintain quality control standards. · Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
