StandardAero Houston is a premier business aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility specializing in the service of mid-sized corporate jets. We support an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Learjet, and Embraer . In addition to comprehensive airframe services, the facility features a state-of-the-art engine shop and test cell, performing overhauls on TFE731 and CFE738 engines. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, StandardAero Houston is dedicated to keeping business aviation flying safely and efficiently.

This experienced A&P Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine and heavy maintenance as well as major inspections on mid-sized corporate aircraft. Troubleshooting, repair, and modification in addition to engine removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak checks, and engine runs are all within the responsibility of this Mechanic. Experience with corporate/business jet models of Embraer, Falcon, Lear, and/or Hawker aircraft is required.

What You Will Do:

  • Inspect aircraft per OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance Manuals.
  • Remove and install wheels, brakes, flight controls and riggings
  • Evaluate removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair airframe systems including hydraulics, landing gear, and more.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Analyze mechanical problems to determine the best repair methods.
  • Test, repair, and adjust engines, engine controls, and flight controls.
  • Check and repair fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling, and pressurization systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments effectively.
  • Remove and reinstall engines from turbofan aircraft.
  • Conduct operational checks and engine runs to ensure airworthiness prior to departure.
  • Make informed decisions on maintenance techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Availability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.

Basic Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on Embraer, Falcon, Lear, Citation, Challenger, Gulfstream, Global and/or Hawker aircraft
  • Valid FAA-approved Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as an A&P Mechanic in corporate / business aviation. 
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift , with overtime as required by the business needs 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must have a Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working in Business / Corporate Aviation.
  • Experience working in a Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • Experience/Training with Honeywell, Bombardier, Dassault, and/or Gulfstream products
  • Aviation training or certifications, including military training, aeronautical academy, technical school, or an Aviation Associates Degree.
