The Clinical Nurse Specialists in ENT/Plastics at BJH are responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for clinical staff, ensuring a superior patient experience. This position requires a Master's Degree and involves managing house-wide educational programs while collaborating with various departments to fulfill regulatory and patient care standards. Nurses in this division specialize in post-surgical care, particularly in reconstructive procedures, enhancing their skills through a variety of complex medical cases.
Additional Information About the RoleThe ENT/plastic reconstructive division at BJH, a 19-bed surgical unit, is consistently ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This unit allows nurses the opportunity to gain experience caring for a wide variety of patients while also specializing in free flap reconstruction, surgical airways, and extremity replantation. Nurses use their assessment skills to care for post-surgical patients and are heavily involved in patient teaching. Staff on this division cared for the first patient in the country to have restored speech through the use of an artificial larynx.
